Or chips on a sandwich. That mania has captured us here at Mr.Beer, and we thought we should share that joy with a few of our awesome customers. We're announcing our inaugural Mr.Beer Fantasy Football Challenge today, and we're looking for some players, 96 to be exact. Congrats Ed Mittelstedt!
It is a great honor to be nominated as this month’s BOM. I can think of a dozen other community members who deserve this more than me.... but since I got picked I’ll just yell, “Mine, suckas!” I grew up in California, and when I was young my parents used to make regular camping trips to Lake Havasu. They would pile everything into a ski boat and wander the shores to find the perfect secluded waterfront spot to camp. Then for the next week, they would do nothing but party and water ski. Back then my dad was Schlitz Malt Liquor man - the old silver can with a bull on it - and he always used to ask me to do him a “flavor,” which meant get him another beer. To me growing up, beer meant good times, relaxing with family, and an overall sense of well-being.
Fast forward to around Christmas 1995. While shopping I happen upon an early form of the Mr.Beer kit in a department store. I thought it would be great for my dad and got it for him as a present. Unfortunately, he never saw the potential in the kit and I never saw it again after Christmas day. I wrote off the concept of home brewing after that.
Welcome back brave brewers,
