I started brewing only last December when I spotted Mr. Beer for the first time on the Net and knew I had to try it. Like many here my first brew was a success in that it looked and tasted somewhat like beer, but it wasn't so much a success in that I used a TABLESPOON instead of a teaspoon to measure carbing sugar and had to spend two weeks letting gas out of the bottles before I could ever drink it. My second brew, a Sticky Wicket was better, and they all got better after that with a short hiatus when chlorophenols reared their ugly head and I learned more about sanitization that I wanted to know. The REASON they got better was interaction and support from a great bunch on this forum who never fail to either have or find an answer to any problem.
From his website:Although he is the author of four critically acclaimed supernatural/suspense thrillers, Chandler McGrew, lives in quiet seclusion in the mountains of Maine. He writes ten to twelve hours a day, fueled by liberal doses of Diet Pepsi, with only homebrew or an occasional dollop of Irish Whiskey to take the edge off. Born in Texas, Chandler lived for almost a decade in Alaska where his first novel, Cold Heart, is set.
Brewing Since: December 2008
Favorite Beer: It used to be Boddington's or Tetley's. Now it is the Scottish Ale that I brewed again and am just starting to condition now. I still have a few bottles left from that original batch, but I'm hoarding them.
Chandler would most like to share a brew with: A lot of guys and gals on this forum. Outside the forum? Willie Nelson. But I wouldn't smoke weed with him. I'm not stupid.
