Congrats Matt (a.k.a. investingdad)!
My real name is Matt and as my user ID implies, I'm a dad. My daughter is 5 and my son will be turning 3 on my birthday this summer. They take up a great deal of my time as any parent can imagine. My wife and I have been married for eight years and we are both in our late 30s. I'm fond of golf though I have not actually picked up the clubs for close to five years now. How old did I say my daughter was again? 
When I'm not brewing beer and entertaining grand (and totally imaginary) thoughts of opening my own little brew works, I'm working as an engineer. Other ways I enjoy spending time (when it's not family oriented) is tending to my berry plants, reading some good books, watching college football, or finding a few minutes for computer games.
How Long have you been brewing?
I've been brewing since just after Christmas 2008. My interest in brewing beer actually grew out of my musings about what to do with a bumper crop of blackberries two summers ago. I had kicked around the idea of making blackberry wine. I decided that the first step was to actually *try* some blackberry wine. It turns out I hate blackberry wine.
But in the process of reading about fermenting grapes, I found all sorts of interesting information about fermenting grain into beer. I had tried beer before and it turns out I love beer. Things were already looking more promising. Since my interest was piqued, I asked my wife for a homebrew kit for Christmas that year. Voila! Santa dropped off a Mr.Beer kit for me.
What is your favorite beer?
It's hard to pick a "favorite" beer because there's so much to choose from. Perhaps the Brewmasters will allow me an indulgence here:
