  1. You're a few degrees above where you want to be (as described by Shrike). I've had this problem in the past & found that draping a hand towel that has been dampened with cold water helps to bring the temperature down 5-8 degrees. I end up resoaking and reapplying 3-4 times a day. After about 3 days I swap out the towel before the risk of bacteria occurs. Good luck! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ˜€

  3. ...how about if I use WLP820 White Labs Oktoberfest Lager Liquid Yeast & brew it as a lager? I have one in the arsenal with an expiration date of 7/17 that I'd do a starter for just to make sure it's viable. ๐Ÿค”

  8. Ah gotcha. It's not even gonna be close. I made my 1st Mr. B. Hard Pear Cider (potatoes-patatos... they taste the same) and followed the directions to a t. It was not to my liking. Next 5 (yup 5!) I flavored and added a lot of lactose and presto... more like what you're longing for. Yours is going to be very dry.
  9. Unfortunately the carb drops won't do a doggone thing except carbonate your beer. The trick to ciders is lactose, and tons of it. Were you looking for something in the lines of Angry Orchard or Red's?
  10. I know that the recipe you chose is listed as an IPA, but I was just curious... What flavor profile are you looking for? Were you going for the typical hoppy (piney/citrus/floral) flavor, hibby? This recipe is much more like a Barleywine. It may be a bit less like one sans the LME. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€

  14. That actually surprises me, Josh. It may just be a "me" thing... well Mini Green Guy & me... but I hate drinking a promotional or holiday themed beer after that particular even has passed.
  15. Mr. B's timing seems to be a bit off. They need to release the new recipes a bit earlier. It's like releasing a Holiday ale on Christmas rather than enjoying it on Christmas.
