Baby Got Bock keg activity

4 posts in this topic

...or lack thereof

Put this in the lbk on 4/6. Have it in a cooler which is staying around 50 F. When swapping out frozen water bottles I'm using to keep the temp in range I have put a light on the keg to check activity, but I can't see any thing. Almost like the inside of the keg is fogged up - can't see any krausen. This is my first time to use the liquid yeast and to ferment at this temp, so I'm not sure what to expect from the keg.

It's not a good idea to open the lid on the keg, correct? Probably should leave it be....?

Probably not the one to ask about liquid yeast as I have only used dry but if the keg is fogged up it could be that the temp in the lbk is higher than that of the cooler. Not all fermentations are the same either. Are you able to see trub in the bottom of the lbk? If you have trub you are brewing.

This is a bottom fermenting yeast, so my understanding is that the fermentation won't look like top fermenting one. The condensation indicates some yeast activity.
