The Spoils of Victory!
Another NFL season came to a close last night, with the Giants stealing another championship away from the Pats in the final minutes of the game. It was a capper to a pretty exciting playoff season, but it was nothing compared to the excitement in the Mr.Beer office! Through sheer determination and force of will, we finished and shipped the grand prize of our Mr.Beer Fantasy Football contest – a customized Mr.Beer kegerator!

Fantasy Football Update
Greetings fantasy football junkies,
It’s December, which means a few things: snow, cold, holiday madness, cold, time spent with annoying family members, and cold. Also, it means the last quarter of the NFL season as well as the last quarter of our inaugural Mr.Beer Fantasy Football Challenge! With only two weeks left in the regular season, we’re in the middle of some pretty hot conference races that should calm those Winter Winds for a little while. Remember, only the top teams from each conference move on to the playoffs. And with that, here’s a preview of what we can expect.
As of today, only one conference has clinched a playoff spot, and that’s team Green Machine in the High Country Canadian Draft Division. And what a season he’s had! Not only does he have the best W/L record (and is the only undefeated team left in the entire league), he also has far more points than anyone else. It’s looking like he’s the early favorite to win it all.
Fantasy Football Update: Week 3
Are you ready for some FOOTBALL?!?!? UPDATES!?!? We're 2 weeks into our inaugural Mr.Beer Fantasy Football season, and after a rocky auto-draft we've sorted through the rubble to start rolling smoothly.
If you have Tom Brady as your QB, you're probably pretty thrilled. His 45 points through the first two games is easily tops in the league, with second place 7 points behind. 5 of the 8 teams that have Tom Brady are first or tied for first in our league, and can count on him to consistently deliver each week for them.
And how about Cam Newton? The rookie has thrown over 400 yards in each of his games, and Carolina fans have to be pretty happy. Other people who are happy? Those who have him in our league, and those who actually started him in either of these weeks - which were only two of you. I'm guessing he'll be starting for more teams going forward.

Nothing brings out creativity like competition. A well placed jibe, an effective insult, or an intimidating team name all have the potential to be the extra point needed to win. Never to be taken lightly, these intimidation tactics are an essential part of the take-no-prisoners world that is fantasy football. I'm learning this lesson fast and furious as we embark on our inaugural Fantasy Football league here at Mr. Beer. Entries are pouring in, so it appears the first challenge will be gaining a coveted spot in the league. You're just gonna have to leave that up to fate, though, as it's going to be a completely random selection. You might consider sacrificing a pigskin to the gods of football, though. Or eating exactly two chocolate chip cookies for luck – hey, it apparently works for Brian Urlacher; why couldn't it work for you?

We're announcing our inaugural Mr.Beer Fantasy Football Challenge today, and we're looking for some players, 96 to be exact. It's free to enter; participants will be randomly chosen on Thursday, August 18.
