HoppySmile! 2,342 Posted April 7, 2016 There goes my tax refund!!! LMAO! Share this comment Link to comment
Nickfixit 4,033 Posted April 7, 2016 Half off is good. The cost of the 6 gal (3 batches) I made using Cooper's Dark Ale can will be $18 + maybe another $16 for assorted DME, LME and hop adds. (which I did not get on sale and all are small quantity buys) So that is another way to go if you are making larger batches and can get them on sale. Even cheaper if you buy bulk on add ingredients. Of course, I did not taste it yet, but it was probably made in the same plant as Mr B HMEs so will be fine. Share this comment Link to comment

HoppySmile! 2,342 Posted April 9, 2016 really trying to get more frnds brewing beer, but I get the same answer, " I don't have time!" doesn't make any sense, brewing beer takes little of your time, while it ferments you have all the time in the world!!! Share this comment Link to comment
Jim Johnson 1,263 Posted April 9, 2016 You're kind of right Hoppy. I tell customers it's only as hard as you WANT it to be. However I find that life conspires to prevent you from brewing. Hell, I run a LHBS and most weeks I can't even work an HME in. That being said, I also realize I'm 60 and not anywhere near as busy as I was in my 20's thru my 40's. (my youngest graduated High School some 2 months before my 50th birthday) Share this comment Link to comment
HoppySmile! 2,342 Posted April 9, 2016 i had a friend come over yesterday and basically drink all my beer (store bought) then says, i gotta go, got some things to do, if he had his own brewed beer it could be different. I've tried dozens of times to go over to his house and set him up with a Mr. beer kit, hell give him a complete free kit at that!! Nope, he doesn't have the time..... RickBeer 6,378 Posted April 9, 2016 1) That's a mooch, not a friend. 2) Hopefully he wasn't driving if he drank like Hoppy... Share this comment Link to comment

LOL! man that would be some nasty tasting beer, but what an experience it would take to brew something like Sardine beer?? the jar has some bourbon soaked oak chips from last year, I just like opening occasionally and take out a chip to chew on. Oklahoma has one of the most strict DUI programs in the country, if get ur first one, better spending a couple of grand, a second is a felony, which serves up to 5 years in prison, or the alternative, DUI court, plan on spending up to 20,000 grand and stuck in a program for 2 dreadful years. my lil brother been thru it. I drink at home, and now since I rarely run out of beer, no need to drive to get more...enuf said!! Share this comment Link to comment

Mine is fermenting but yeast is nowhere near so active as the Coopers in my 3 dark ale variants. Share this comment Link to comment
