  1. Where can I get a start (rhizome)? Does anyone on here have any.? All of the major hop sales are closed until next spring.
  2. Does anyone know where I can get one to keep it growing during the winter in my hot house?
  3. Just buy the spigot. If you already have a Wand, there's no need to buy the combo.
  4. Because I ferment in a dark room, that's the reason I wanted a clear keg. Even with a bright spotlight, it's sometimes hard to see in the brown kegs. I will not use the old can of WCPA. I will keep it as a piece of MB history. If I was going to get a clear fermenter, what do you recommend?
  5. I was all excited about using the old style keg that was clear and had a airlock (bubbler)on top so I could see what was going on. It came in the mail today, so I jumped in the kitchen and began a brew. Half way through the brew, I unpackaged the keg to start getting it cleaned and ready. That is when I noticed that it is only 6 quarts. That is a gallon and a half where the new kegs are two and a half. Needles to say, I was disappointed and didn't use it today. It had a can of WCPA. There are a few rust spots on the can. Do you think it is any good?
  6. What type (Brand, Name, etc.) of yeast comes under the lid? Does MB have their own brand?
  7. The best advice is PATIENCE. I did my first brew of WCPA on 9/28. I tried a small test bottle yesterday and it needs a couple more weeks conditioning. I found some 7 oz coke and Dr. Pepper bottles that I capped for testers. On this forum you will hear it preached over and over to do the 2-2-2. These folks that preach this have years of wisdom in this hobby and they know what they are doing. So, if you want to impress your friends, don't rush the brew. It's time in a bottle.
  8. I would like to grow my own hops inside for this coming winter. I can't find any plants available?
  9. After reading the two articles, my question is....what is the best method to pitch the yeast?
  10. I've ordered from Brewmasters. You can put together a recipe and order just the amount of stuff you need. They have a flat $6.99 shipping rate. Prices seem to be competitive. The website: http://www.brewmasterswarehouse.com/ 2nd choice would be Midwest Supplies. 3rd. Austin Homebrew Supply
  11. Do you have floaties or am I doing something wrong?
  12. It taste like alcohol and very cloudy. Cowboy Lager. The temp. has been at room (72-74*)temperature.
  13. I have a couple brews that are 21 days fermenting. When I look into the keg with a strong flashlight, I see things moving around and cloudy beer. They are both HME & UHE mixes with MB yeast. How can only two weeks fermentin be good? I assume when I see movement, the yeast is still working and I need to continue fermenting.
  14. What is Kolsch and what MB ingredients would it take to brew it?
  15. Does anyone know what brand (type) of yeast that is under the lids of the HME'? Is the same yeast for every lid or different?
