  1. I used the probe type in one of my kegs, just drill the hole 1/64 smaller than the stem and it seals good.Removable for cleaning. Gotta admit it makes the old keg look cool.
  2. I've been using Coopers yeast for my last 5 brews, and i love it. I also split a Coopers Ale between 2 kegs. Won't know how it is for 3 more weeks. I hope mine looks like that!
  3. I did a HCCD with 1lb of LDME, it was a good middle-of-the-road beer. Kind of like a Miller, but better (IMHO).
  4. Congrats on the first brew! Chill two on Wednesday, in case it's really good, and try one Friday. You have been patient and deserve a reward.

I am drinking a Cowboy Lager that I used DME instead of Booster. I used Muntons Light from the LHBS and I'm happy with it. Like BP says , try to come close in color.
  6. Look at the New Brewers and FAQs category at the top for the Simple Guidelines post.
  7. Here is a link to a priming calculator. http://www.thescrewybrewer.com/p/brewing-tools-formulas.html Many good things on Screwy's site.
  8. I use a hose, but you have to be careful the hose doesn't come out of the beer in the priming container so as not to aerate it. A locking spigot is great when doing this.

  10. I used 41 IBU in my calculations, assuming a 6 gal. batch. I dropped that down to 2.25 gal.
  11. If you used 1 can of Cooper's in a 2 gal batch, it seems the IBUs wold be very high. When I ran it in QBrew, it was over 100.Admittedly I could have figured this wrong
