  1. That is such great sale! I bought four but figured that I saved enough to get a fifth plus free shippong on top of that. It's been a good day!
  2. Hey all quick question - I'm adding my pureed raspberries after a week. Do I stir thr puree into the wort or do I just add it and then sealth the keg? Thanks, T4G
  3. I am an oddity here in that I only have one LBK and my brew club order ships every three months. So when I plan it's usually at least three batches. It used to be more before MrB switched over to Coopers. Last fall when they were clearing out the old HME's I bought enough to make about 10 batches so I'm good for awhile. T4G
  4. I finally got around to making my version of this. It's as follows: 1 can HCD 1 lb. Light DME 1 Cup Agave 1 Can Raspberries in heavy syrup Plan on adding the Agave after the first days. I'll let you know how it turns out. T4G

In about 3-4 weeks I'll post a review of the NW Pale Ale Deluxe I bottled yesterday. T4G I had my first bottle from this batch the other night and have to say it was very good. To me it was a lot better than the old WCPA w/ booster. It poured crisp and clear with a good head that lasted longer than most of the beers I've made. I would make it again and will probably add it to my summer rotation or a recipe that uses it as a base. Keep brewing! T4G I don't know what everyone else thinks of this beer but I wanted say again how much I am enjoying it. I had put me membership on hold to use up some old stuff but I'm seriously thinking of starting it again as I won't have enough of this to last the summer. T4G
  6. Tonight I had my first taste of the Baby Got Bock. I brewed this batch per the instructions but when the liquid yeast did not start after five days I had to drop in a packet of the new dry yeast that came with the Hme but was not needed so I do not know if that affected the finished product that much or not. I fermented for about 20 days and let sit in the bottle a good five weeks and in the fridge for three days. Before pouring I let the bottle sit on the counter for about thirty minutes. It poured clear with a big foamy head that was not overly dense and dissipated quickly. On first taste it was okay but not as good as the old Brew Ha Ha Bock which I loved. I am not as we'll versed on others as to mouth feel, complexity, and all of the other stuff but to me it was an okay beer. I will probably brew it again with the correct yeast to see if that affects my perception of this beer but unless the change in the yeast greatly changes this brew it will not be going in my rotation. I'm sorry I could not be more specific about what it is about this beer that I'm not crazy about. T4G

  8. A quick question about adding the honey on this. Are you adding the honey at primary or secondary fermentation? Thanks, T4G
  9. This sounds really good. Has anyone tried it with raspberries? T4G
  10. Today I bottled up the Baby Got Back then brewed up a batch of the American Ale Deluxe. This brings my total for 2013 to 6.4 gallons. It's turning into a good brew year. T4G
  11. That with a lot of the new MrB recipes that the ABV is up over 5.0 on a good percentage of them? I like a high ABV just as much as the next guy but also think a good 4 to 5% fits the bill as well. Thanks, T4G
  12. It seems that by pulling the ice bottles and letting the temp come up fermentation has finally kicked in on this batch. Not a lot of foam on top but there is just a little and it smells like beer. Maybe in another day or two I'll see the kind of action I'm used to. Lesson learned to not have the water so cold when I pitch the yeast. Thank you to everyone for the assistance. T4G
  13. Still no bubbles and doesn't seem to be any trub. When I look in the keg I can see the granules from the dry yeast packet hovering near the bottle. I've pulled the ice bottles from the cooler to let the temp come up a little bit. The temp was running below 60 so hoping by bringing the temp up the yeast might start doing their thing. Still not ready to write this batch off. T4G
