  1. I was looking at the new recipes and noticed that the Dark Forest Stout is actually a good deal. For $17.95 you get the standard St Patricks IS refill and a pack of booster and a can of raspberries. You are getting the booster and raspberries free. The raspberry wheat recipe is basically the same and is $7 more. Dark Forest Stout
  2. German Hefe I am brewing the German Hefe and was wondering what others thoughts were on adding 1/2 cup of booster. I have made the recipe before and enjoyed it, but wondered if I could bump up the ABV. Has anyone boiled any of the hops in the some of the UME to change things up? Thanks
  3. I've had wine that was back sweetened with brown sugar. Would it be possible to do that to beer? Not sure how you would stop the yeast from fermenting the sugar and also be able to carbonate the beer.

  5. I am going to be making this and was wondering what a good yeast would be? Anyone try the bavarian lager liquid yeast? yeast
  6. If you won one of the divisions add something to your cart under your account and you will see the $25. I got mine and know others got theirs.

Thanks. I'd be interested as well. Thanks
  8. I received the following for Christmas and am going to be placing an order soon. Help me decide what to do with the following. It can be any thing from yeast, hops, HME, UME or I may be able to get some DME. I don't care for hoppy beers. All suggestions are welcome, Thanks. WWW refill - German Hefe WWW refill - ? OVL refill - German Alt Dunkel. What yeast should I use? OVL refill - ? HCCD refill - ? HCCD refill - ? St Patricks refill - ?Creamy Brown UME? Stickey Wicket - Yeast? Witty Monk - Yeast?
  9. I made the German Alt Dunkel and added a cup of dark brown sugar. My favorite beer so far. German Alt Dunkel MAKES APPROX. 2 GALLONS OF BEER IN ABOUT 3 WEEKS. OG: 1.046 (approx.) -- FG: 1.012 (approx.) Suggested lager time is 2 to 4 weeks. Our "Old Dark" ale is reminiscent of the sweeter, balanced dark brews of Bavaria. Just gather around the picnic table, grill up a few bratwurst, and let the toasting begin! RECIPE INCLUDES: 1 Can Octoberfest Vienna Lager HME 1 Can Mellow Amber UME 1 Packet Dry Brewing Yeast (under lid of HME) 1 Packet Perle Pellet Hops 1 Muslin Hop Sack 1 Packet No-Rinse Cleanser

So I figured I'd just stay with the BIAB gig for 2.4 gal batches, and BIAB/PM for 5 gal batches. But this is a great deal, and the spigot makes it very appealing. Plenty big for a 6-gal boil volume. Thanks again! No problem. As soon as I saw the pot had a spicket I thought of making beer and ran to the computer to post it.
  13. They don't have a very good website and this in their special ad.
  14. I thought this might interest some of you that brew up large batches. Menards has a Gas Turkey Fryer on sale for $50 after $30 rebate Fri - Sat. It's 35 QT with a 50,000 BTU burner. The thing that caught my eye was that the stockpot has a spigot on it. Hope this helps someone out.
  15. Since everyone plays each other once the teams that don't set their line-up won't screw up the season. I wonder if Mr. Beer will do another update on the season anytime soon? Green Machine (HCCD Division)
