  1. Thanks everyone for the advice. The reason I ask is because I, in the future want to attempt to brew a lager. As of now all I've done are ales and St. Patrick's stout.
  2. I know that there are various temperature ranges for the different worts to insure proper fermentation. Does anyone have a chart of the specific temps for the various worts? Maybe I should say, what are the temps for the various yeasts. I want to get this brewing thing right.
  3. I have a can of CAL that came with my 2nd Mr. Beer. I've been wondering what to try with it. Thanks, Nickfixit and HoppySmile for the ideas!
  4. Welcome back peanutman. I got lucky and found my Mr. Beer complete system at Academy Sports on clearance for $15.98. That was such a good price that I bought two. I currently have the American Classic Light going in one and St. Patrick's Irish Stout going in the other. The two batches are staggered by a week.
  5. I'm in Abilene. We don't have a homebrew shop here so I have to order most of my supplies and pay for shipping.
  6. For the temp in my LBk I just went to Walmart in the pet section and bought an aquarium thermometer for $1.98. It reads in both F and C. You just peel off the backing and stick it on the LBK. It works like a champ.
  7. I just put my St. Patrick's Irish Stout wort in the LBK today. I'm anxious to taste the finished product. Thanks for everyone's thoughts on this beer.
  8. I'm new to the brew scene and I'm from Texas as well. I started my first batch one week ago and my second one today. I'm anxious to see how it turns out.
