SmokeDiver3zero 0 Posted May 31, 2011 my advise - let it ferment for a month and condition for 6 months (Should be a great Christmas Day present to yourself).IMHO - I have had better luck this way*just curious why you took a gravity reading after 4 days? BTW: He hates being called NOG - it's NONG
yankeedag 24 Posted May 31, 2011 Couple of things... 1: that's "NONG" not Nog. 2: for a 2 gallon batch, 1/2 to 3/4 lbs of Lactose would have been fine. 3: let it ferment for ONE month before bottling. 4: Leave it at room temp for 3 months before drinking. (pop in the fridge a day or two before drinking). 5: Not sure how that Tropicana pure Premium orange juice will work out, but should be interesting. 6: No nutmeg? 7: 1/4 pumpkin pie spice will be lost in it all. you need at least 1/2 to even notice it's there. 8: That's "NONG" not Nog.
