I did this too but the one mine came in was not clear all around. It was a chinsy plastic tube and cracked at the ttop pretty quickly. Plus, it has no base so it was prone to tip over a bit to easily. The sample tube is bigger but easier to read thru, more durable and wont tip.

I had the same problem. It set me back about 4 bucks.
