Black tower porter

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone. Just need a little input. I'm planning on brewing up some black tower porter, but would like to beef it up a bit. Any suggestions on hopps, upgrading the yeast, adding additional ingredients (honey, brown sugar, etc.), increasing body and/or abv. Anyway, any suggestions/ input welcome.

I cracked open my first bottle of rev. Bitter after conditioning for six weeks and was extremely pleased with how it turned out and am excited to brew something else up.

Have you brewed this before? If not I really encourage you to brew it as is the first time and then tinker with it after you have tasted it. It's really hard to dial in a brew to your tastes unless you have a starting point.

I've used the analogy before resently, but it's like putting salt on your food before you taste it. How do you know it needs more salt?

If I were you I would jump on ordering another Black Tower Porter (since they've stopped making them) and have it ready to brew after this one is done. Make lots of notes on this one and any idea's on what you might add. Trust me your going to be alot happier.

I brewed this straight up to find out what it was like.
I did use 3 MRB yeast. If I make it again, I would use S-04.

Made in 12/10. I have ONE bottle left. Waiting for a special time to drink it:)
Very good beer.
