Samuel Adams Octoberfest question

Recommended Posts

I'm thinking about brewing some octoberfest so it will be ready by October. I see where Samuel Adams has it on the shelves as a seasonal beer. Has anyone tried it? If so, how did it compare to Mr beers?

I've got a 5 gal batch fermenting right now, it was kinda a use what ya got brew.

I used one can of the new coopers & one can of the old mb HME, 2# amber dme & a bag of booster, had an OG of 1.048 iirc.

Split between 2 lbks, used 3 packs of fromunda yeast in one & the new yeast in the other. Will bottle next weekend.

Haven't tried either yet so I guess I can't answer your original question.

Sam Adams Octoberfest is probably my favorite craft beer. I actually brewed a beer that tastes almost identical to it when sampled side by side. It is an all grain brew.

The old Mr Beer Octoberfest mated with their amber ume tasted really close. I don't know what they have now.

IMHO Sam Octoberfest is one of the better Octoberfest beers. I like Spaten, but only on draft. Bottled is always skunked...

The Sam Adams Oktoberfest this year seems over carbed
