Blueberry wheat alcohol?

Recommended Posts

I'm making a blueberry wheat with Bavarian Weissbier. I'm adding a 21 oz can of blueberry filling (like a pie filling). I purred it and put it in the LBK. This wheat beer is 3.7% ABV. Approximately what is it with the 21 oz can of blueberries added? Thanks in advance.

I haven't done fruit additions in years. Just wait, I'm sure someone has that in their notes and will get back with you. Pie filling isn't really the best you can use as well. Check the contents. There might be some Bad to the Beer stuff in there. It's better to use canned blueberries, not pie filling. it should give it a bump up to about 4-ish.
to bump the ABV up, you might want to add some LME/DME. Just say'n. :borg:

I'm not sure about the ABV but I think I read on here somewhere that you really should not use pie fillings. You should use real fruit instead. I think it was because pie fillings have a lot junk in them that is not fermentable.
