Russian River's Pliny recipe

Recommended Posts

I did a take on this. Bumped it up to 10%. It was amazing. Best beer to date. Also won 1st place for IPA_DIPA category at the empire cup. I highly recommend giving this a try.

Good to hear. Happy to say I hit all my numbers. Now it's just a matter of keeping the fermentation temp under control. I'm guessing I lost a quart of wort to those leaf hops. Man, they take up a lot of space.

Whiny and Balder is in the keg! I was afraid I wouldn't attenuate as well as the Russian River recipe calls for and shot for a 1.073 OG instead of 1.070. Boiled off a quart too much and wound up with 1.075, which attenuated down to 1.011, same TG as R.R, but a bit stronger. Man, this stuff smells and tastes like heaven.

Made a couple changes to the dry hops too. Used Falconer's Flight because I couldn't find Simcoe pellets. There's probably Simcoe in the blend anyway. Very stoked about this one.
