How much have you brewed in 2013?

Recommended Posts

At this point about 4.48 gallons or simply 2 MB refills. 2 more planned for this month alone after that not sure as I will take a step from just MB refills to hopping or steeping or both.

Lets see just how fast the beer disappears when I can finaly take my first taste of my first batch.

Ok count as of 3-13-2013
2.14 Classic American Light
2.14 Canadain Blonde
2.14 Bravarian Weissbier
2.25 Caribou Slobber
2.14 Blue Night Doppelbock (RCE2013)

For a total of: 10.81

And another batch planned for this weekend.

After my birthday this month I should really start adding as I asked for a 6.5 gal ale pale. Right now I only have 2 lbk's.

With what I have fermenting now, I'm up to 18 gallons so far in 2013. I'll have to slow down a bit in April and May due to work and maybe even in the summer if it's too hot.

Added the old MB Fallen Friar to my 2013 totals (2.4 gallons in lbk) which are now 17.4 gallons.

Due to some work downtime, I was able to do our Fall 2012 Collaboration brew that K9Dude & I worked hard to put together, "Vienna Amber LAGER" on Feb 19th in 2.5 gallon batch in lbk.

I then added to my pipeline of fermenters, a 2.4 gallon batch of old MB First Pitch Pilsner in honor of the upcoming 2013 baseball season.

This now brings my 2013 brew total to 22.3 gallons and this after having not brewed in January at all. Now to empty some bottles down the gullet.

I had to laugh when I looked back and we were supposed to post our totals, then edit the original post, so the thread would be much shorter... Imagine, expecting people that brew beer to read directions. HA!

Ah 2013 eh, I'm gonna actually keep track of my brewing this year:

Batch 1: Mountain Cascade West Coast DIPA - 5 Gallons
This was an incredibly hoppy brew, up front citrus taste, and a crapload of hops in the recipe.
Came out at 9.4%, a little hot, I let the ferm temp get a bit high at one point.
I also had a yeast fiasco, almost lost this brew, but I replaced the original yeast with some from the LHBS and it took off.

Batch 2: Dead Ringer IPA (Two Hearted Clone) - 5 Gallons
It's still conditioning so no tasting notes yet. Finished at 6.8% I believe....maybe a bit more or less.

Batch 3: Bourbon Barrel Porter - 5 Gallons
This one isn't bottled yet. OG 1.066 - She's getting makers mark and oak cubes thrown in her soon.

15 gallons total.

Jive is gonna love that Dead Ringer. It's simple and clean tasting and is a great example of an IPA.

I don't keep a running tab but I brew more than I can drink and share a large amount of it with friends.

Reviewing the ground rules:

Here are the ground rules. The premise of this thread is for you to maintain your brew log for the year. Simply create a post, and then as you brew edit your single post to reflect your current status. Again, the preference is one post per person that you edit throughout the year.

I'm at roughly 21 gallons for the year now. Not a crazy amount, but I'm happy with it so far. I've rarely been without at least a few bottles of homebrew on hand. I think I may have to step it up to 5-gallon batches soon, though.
