christler 0 Posted July 11, 2013 I've been doing biab for awhile now. I normally do 4 gallon batches and use around 10# of grain. I'm working on a recipe that is a little over 12#s. Has anyone used this much or more in a 5 gallon paint strainer?
russki 4 Posted July 11, 2013 Yep, works just fine. I've done BIAB batches with up to 15 pounds using a 5-gallon paint strainer bag.

hindey19 0 Posted August 6, 2013 Just finished doing a 12# with a nylon bag. Was nervous pulling it out after the mash, but it held up just fine.
Beer-lord 2 Posted August 6, 2013 Just be careful not to burn or scorch the bag. Some folks on another forum had a discussion about that recently and many mentioned the painter bags gave way after they weren't careful and burned them. Just common sense but shyte happens.
