Dining with a naked cat.

Recommended Posts

Poured me the bottle of Inkleg's Stone VE 09-09-09 clone to have with tonight's lasagna dinner. This paired very well, to be honest! The beer has a really intense, sweet and slightly grassy aroma. It didn't have a very thick head, and what head it did have dissipated fairly quickly, but a tan froth lingered on the surface. I took a couple bites of my dinner and then washed it down with my first sip of the brew. A chocolatey, slightly smokey flavor danced on my tongue, which then became mildly bitter. With some of the Italian sausage from the lasagna, the taste of the beer became even sweeter. I got a sensation that this would be a fantastic beer to warm up with in the winter.

Oh yeah, good Schtako that's for sure!
Also would make a great fall/winter brew. Hey, it's a stone and a Jeff brew, what more can a beer lover ask for?

Thanks for the kind words Phil, (it's the cat fur as you know). I'm thinking the WLP500 Trappist yeast is the reason for how the head pours. Even the ones from the keg look just like your pour.
I'm not sure yet where I stand on this one.
Loved the one I had in the bottle, but not to thrilled so far with the keg.
I'll take "things that make you go, huh" for 1000 Alex.
I'll see how and where it goes.

Cascadian dark ale, or a India dark ale or one of the other names they call them. I am sure you could do something weird or kinky with them.

Thanks for clearing that up. Cosmic Dust Analyzer was what I came up with. Though weird, it's not too kinky.
If Stones Sublimely Self-Righteous Ale is one then yes. Anything with LOTS of hops then yes.
I'll be making SSR here shortly. Going to do another Stone Levitation and then use part of the yeast cake for the SSR.
