Boil hops in unhopped malt extract ,not plain water.  The hops need something to cling to .

Otherwise, the bittering flavoring aromitating wont happen to much extent.

For this recipe I was going more for flavor form the hops with the water, not  trying to pull so much of the bitterness our of the hops with a UME boil, not so much of the isomerization of the hops

I just did a similar one that I really like. It was a hit at a recent family reunion

Cascade Pale Ale:

1 can Northwest Pale Ale

1 lb light DME

.25 oz Cascade 35 min

.25 oz Cascade 20 min

.25 oz Cascade 7 min

.25 oz Cascade dry hop for 7 days

S-05 yeast

Always boil the hops in DME or UME. Boiling in water is pretty much a waste of the hops. You probably got most of your flavor and aroma from the dry hop.

Im assuming the hop boil ws done with the LME and not the HME as that would end up changing the hops profile.
