Patriot Lager - Any Recommendations

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Just looking for any recommendations on Patriot Lager.

I just finished up a month ago bottling the Classic American Ale, which turned out well.  So I'm just keeping ahead of the game.

I figured I would keg it for 3 weeks, and then prime it for 4 weeks.  Anyway looking for any recommendations.

Also will use 1/2 tsp. sugar per 12 oz. bottle.

The Patriot Lager is good brewed as you're planning to make it. If you want to go beyond the standard the recipes listed (click the recipes tab on the main web page) are good starting points, but with any refill brewing it as designed first and then adjusting to your taste the next time around is your best bet. If you find that you really don't like a particular refill you probably can't add anything that will make you like it, but if a refill is basically good but you want more hops, or more malt flavor, or more alcohol, you can adjust those things.

That's just my not particularly humble opinion, based on a moderate amount of experience.

+1 to pspearing! I say try it as is at first to make sure you like, which I think you should it is a very good refill! Then if you want to add more you could add some DME or LME, or maybe even some hops in there!

I make this and add an LME pack and sometimes a booster. Makes a real nice smooth beer without any bitter after taste. I like it and its one of my regulars.

Cool Thanks to all!  I'll be kegging it tomorrow night.  I'm hoping the 1/2 tsp. sugar does well for it.  The last batch was the Classic American Ale, and there was a big difference in head and taste using 1/2 tsp. and 3/4 tsp.  the 3/4 tsp. just was way to carbonated.  I felt like I was drinking champagne.

I made the Patriot Lager for the first time recently.  In fact, This is the first week after the 4 weeks of carb / condition.  I am very pleased with the result.  I did the recipe as is.  3 weeks in the LBK.  I put them in 12 oz bolles with 3/4 tsp of sugar.  I found the caronation very good for my taste.  I'm sure you'll be pleased with it.  Enjoy.

I just bought the Dads Favorite Creme Ale recipe. Patriot Lager, Pale LME and 1/2 cup of honey. Just pitched it last night so, I'll be able to tell you in 6-8 week which will probably be too late for you.

I enjoyed both the 1776 Ale and Powerful Patriot Ale which are made with the Patriot Lager.
