Alcohol question

Recommended Posts

Hello again fellow brewers, it's me again the brewing rookie.  How do you control the alcohol content?  In other words, is there a way to make the beer stronger or weaker?

Thanks in advance

If you want to make it stronger, check ou the LME soft packs, DME.  They will add more flavor as well depending on which one.  You could go with the booster as well, if you only want to do more alcohol and not change the flavor a great deal.

I just got a second LBK that came with the CAL, to which I'm going to add booster that's been sitting in my closet for three years.

The more fermentables used the stronger the beer. Use less fermentables and the yeast will produce less alcohol.

However, the best advice is to chase the flavor, not the alcohol content.

The only way to make a Mr. Beer refill weaker would be to put too much water in.  Given that the basic refills come in at 3.1% ABV, I can't imagine anyone doing that intentionally.
