Recipe suggestions?

Recommended Posts

My son gave me a pack of Amirillo and a pack of Citra Hops.  In my Mr. Beer stash I have:

Qty 1 Northwest Pale ale 2.86 lbs

Qty 2 American Light 1.87 lbs

Qty 2 Pale Ale LME

Qty 1 AMerican Ale 1.87 lbs

Qty 1 Brewmax Smooth DME

Qty 1 Smooth LME

Any recipe suggestions using those Hops and any combination of the above?

Thanks

Amarillo and Citra are both great in IPAs and APAs.  I might be inclined to throw them at the NW Pale ale.  If you had a lighter LME, I'd recommend boiling them (with the LME) in your water for 60 min (maybe 1/3 of pack), 20 min (another 1/3), and 5 min (last 1/3) of either of those two hop varieties.  I suppose you could use the 'smooth' to do this and get something of a hoppy red/amber.  Otherwise, just do the Mr. B dryhop with 1/2 a pack of one or the other.  I say NW Pale, but I think it would work with any of those HMEs.

I would mix the American Ale and Northwest Pale Ale together, along with the hops and a cup of honey. Just make sure you have the right yeast to compliment this mix.

Honey will not add honey taste when used to carbonate bottles.

+1 your just don't use enough of it when carbonating.
