Dry corn sugar instead of booster

Recommended Posts

Hi again, everyone.

Please, could anyone tell me how much of dry corn sugar to use instead of booster?

I understand the one pack of booster is not the same as the older recipes that had two packs of booster.

Thank you.

I would use the booster, or better yet forget the booster and corn sugar, and use extra malt. I think RickBeer has the breakdown on what is in booster as opposed to corn syrup and dry corn sugar.

They cut the size of the booster bag in half from what it used to be. IRRC Booster contains some maltodextrin, so it helps some with foam.

You don't want to sub corn sugar for booster.

It has been some time for me lost all supplies but if I remember 1 cup of dextrose = 1 % boost.

Dextrose does add a flavor and I used it for the burn, Ferment and conditioning. just 1 cup throughout the process.

The dextrose is powder fine and always easy to work with through all the steps.

Cost is minimal as well.

Cheers, M
