Problem averted, hopefully

Recommended Posts

Just finished brewing a batch of light beer and pitched the yeast. While I was cleaning up I noticed a leak on my lbk. I then remembered I had not tightened the spigot. Several cuss words later I poured the batch into a newly sanitized lbk. Hopefully that won’t hurt the yeast as it really stirred it up.

It will be just fine.  Stirring the yeast will not hurt one bit.  In fact, the instructions used to say to stir.  But they took that part out because of the risk of new brewers not sanitizing the spoon that they stirred with.

Right.

In the future, fill the LBK up with water and let it sit for 15 - 30 minutes, check for leaks.  Empty water, sanitize, make beer.
